The Shooting

Cordoba is considered the dove shooting capital of the world. The 100 square mile radius (160 km) around the lodge is annually inhabited by over 40 million dove. For the uninitiated this is quite possibly shooting heaven and whether you are a veteran or a relative novice you will be able to find sport to match. The birds fly in literally waves, darkening the skies and whether you wish to focus on sheer numbers or go for the most challenging shots the options are yours. The lodge enjoys 55 privately held shooting fields all within a scenic drive through the region’s rich farmland.

Location & Environment

The province of Córdoba is centrally located in Argentina and enjoys a mild climate that changes little throughout the year. The thousands of acres of grain crops, coupled with suitable roosting conditions, have produced a dove population that is sustained at 23 million birds. Many shooters return from Córdoba saying, "You have to see it to believe it!"

Following proven years of success at Pica Zuro, La Dormida was built in direct response to requests from our clientele for a private lodge in which to entertain family and business colleagues. The Lodge will house as many as 12 dove shooters in style and comfort in 7 bedrooms with private baths. La Dormida is newly constructed, and the amenities and design of the lodge reflect thoughtful details that will be appreciated by visiting shooters. Situated in the secluded foothills of the Sierras Chicas you and your private party can enjoy the comforts of a lodge you can call your own, in complete seclusion. Best Times to Go

This is a true all year round location and makes an excellent addition to any other activities you might have in mind during a trip to Argentina or Chile. Combined with the fabulous Sea Trout fishing in Tierra del Fuego or Patagonia or indeed Golden Dorado fishing in the Iberia marsh area it makes for an amazing sporting holiday.

Getting There

La Dormida is located in the province of Cordoba, in central Argentina, 80 miles (130 kms) north of the Cordoba City international airport. Driving time 1:35 hr. To get to the lodge there are daily direct flights from many U.S. cities to Santiago, Chile with connecting flights to Cordoba city. That will allow you to make the most of your trip as you will be dove shooting the day of your arrival (depending on the different flight schedules). From Europe you may also fly into Buenos Aires (Ezeiza International Airport), transfer to the domestic airport and take a 1 hr flight to Cordoba.
